March 2016 - Opening of the Te Aro Pā Papakainga housing

On 19 March 2016 the Dwell team were very proud to be at the dawn ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Te Aro Pā papakainga housing in Evans Bay. It was a fantastic and moving ceremony Dwell is extremely proud to be part of this project and managing the homes on behalf of Te Aro Pā Whenua Trust.

Many media covered the story including RNZ and Te Karere. Māori Development Minister, Te Ururoa Flavell also commented. 

Finance Minister Bill English also dropped in to see Te Aro Pā. He was interested in papakāinga as a model that could be used on other freehold Māori land and also Dwell’s role in the project.
