December 2015 - Dwell to manage Te Aro Pā Trust’s papakāinga housing
Dwell is excited to announce our partnership with Te Tumu Paeroa/The New Maori Trustee to provide tenancy management for Te Aro Pā Trust’s papakāinga housing now being built in Evans Bay.
In this prime coastal spot 10 minutes from the CBD, Te Aro Pā, Wellington’s first city papakāinga offers excellent accommodation to support affordable, modern living. Papakāinga translates as ‘nurturing place to return to’ and reflects a type of housing development that happens on multiply-owned Māori or ancestral land.
Te Aro Pā is managed by a private Trust and their vision for this development vision is to create a contemporary kāinga (village) made up of young families, kaumātua and professionals. Priority will be given to the thousands of descendants of the of the original Ngāti Ruanui and Taranaki Iwi people of Te Aro Pā.
Fourteen homes, a mix of one and three bedrooms, will be available in March 16. To find out more about this housing please see our Te Aro Pā housing page.
