Dwell Office Team

Dwell's office team (L-R) Katie, Alison, Liz and Alice.

It has been a busy and unusual year for the Dwell team, with many changes. Firstly our long standing chair Paul Scholey went to live in Melbourne in January for most of the year. Paul has remained on the board but he is taking a break as chair. Angela Wilson is our interim chair until Paul returns to NZ at the end of November.

Our director Alison Cadman heads off for a four month sabbatical to the UK at the end of July and should be back in the office at the end of November. Alison is going to visit and work with some housing associations and other housing services while she is there, plus she is going to have a much deserved extended holiday. The director's role will be covered by Alice Peycke, Alice has been working for Dwell recently so she knows the organisation and our work which is a big bonus.

Our thanks to Linda Beatson for all her hard work and commitment to the Dwell mission while she was our housing officer. We welcomed Liz Kemp as our new housing officer in May and you can check out Liz’s story on our website here. Our administrator Beba McLean went on maternity leave at beginning of May to have her son Teo – we are delighted to have an addition to the extended Dwell team. We are pleased to have Katie Monteith acting in this role. Katie is also working at the Wellington Women’s Boarding House which we hope will bring many advantages to both organisations.

Our Mahora House housekeeper Janne Thompson is on an extended period of leave and in Europe meeting and finding out about her family there. Thanks to Fiona Fleming for her work while Janne is away. Our trustee Clare Aspinall is also away in the UK until July.

Our patron Judge Peter Boshier was shortlisted for the New Zealander of The Year award in January – an amazing achievement.

So lots happening - must be something in the air this year!
